Neurogenomics and Neuroimaging of Developmental Disorders
A Symposium and Workshops
30, April - 05 May 2009, Dubrovnik, Croatia
Welcome letter
Dear Colleagues,
The objective of this scientific meeting is to bring together scientists involved in advanced studies of neuroimaging, neurogenomics and pharmacogenomics of developmental behavioral, cognitive and neurological disorders. This year (2009) intensive meeting events (symposium and workshops) will be centered on neuroimaging and neurogenomics of neurogenetic events, development of fronto–limbic circuitry, migratory disorders, autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia, ADHD and developmental language impairments.
Two challenging topics will be discussed in the framework of developmental neuroscience: pharmacogenomics and relationship between ultrasound, MR and brain development.
We are inviting to Dubrovnik meeting clinicians and neuroscientists from different fields of clinical and basic neuroscience: developmental neurology, pediatric neuroradiology, psychiatry, developmental neuroscience and genetics.
We believe that format of the meeting, four days with brief symposium lectures and several technical workshops, and a half-day trip to Cavtat, valley of Konavle and the old watermills on a river Ljuta, left open for informal interactions and science networking, will create an atmosphere conducive to in-depth analysis of research results and their implications.
It is expected that many of participants will be young specialists in clinical disciplines, postdoctorals and Ph.D. students from countries in central and eastern European region.
The participation will be scored by Croatian Medical Chamber and Ph.D. programs in neuroscience. This meeting will be a major opportunity to bridge the gap between neuroscience research and clinical work and, hopefully, will have a great impact on early diagnosis and successful treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders during pregnancy, perinatal period, childhood and adolescence.
The site of the meeting is a beautiful old building of Center for Advanced Academic Studies in Dubrovnik operated by University of Zagreb and Hilton hotel within easy walking distance to the walls of the magnificent old city of Dubrovnik.
We cordially invite you to contribute and to participate!
On behalf of the Organizing and Scientific Committee
